Knowledge and Experience
Marino has practised in the area of insurance since 1999, having defended workers’ compensation and personal injury claims, public and general liability claims on behalf of various insurers and insureds. Marino completed his articles at a Plaintiff based personal injury firm, and has subsequently been employed in Defendant based personal injury practice. Marino was appointed a Senior Associate at WHL Legal Pty Ltd in September 2004.
Marino has provided advice and defended claims made pursuant to various State and Federal legislation including the Workers’ Compensation and Injury Management Act 1981 (WA), Occupiers Liability Act 1985 (WA), Insurance Contracts Act 1984 (Cth), Motor Vehicle (Third Party Insurance) Act 1943 (WA), Trade Practices Act 1985 (Cth), Sale of Goods Act 1895 (WA), Fatal Accidents Act 1959 (WA), the Civil Liability Act 2002 (WA) and other related legislation.
Marino has provided advice on policy interpretation, policy indemnity and all insurance related issues. His client base has included: RiskCover, GIO Insurance Ltd, Zurich Australian Insurance Ltd and CGU Insurance Ltd.
